Kim Kelley-Wagner has two daughters who were adopted from China. In everyday life, they have been subjected to horrid statements from people - to their faces, to their mother as they stood by her, etc. In this photo collection, shared on her blog, Kim and her daughters (Lily and Meika) put these ignorant cruelties front and center. "I have tried to explain to my daughters that people do not say these things to be mean, they say them out of ignorance, which is why I am sharing some of them. Words are powerful, they can become tools or weapons, choose to use them wisely."
This hurt my heart, hard. Ignorance might be bliss for some, but for others it can kill (words matter).
As one being adopted from China as well. I know the pain of being bullied for not being the same. I still face some of it today. I hate that this happens, and the worst part is that the majority of insults come from adults.
Who has been your biggest mentor on the show? Nat Dormer. I can ask her the most stupid embarrassing questions. I’ll be like “so what does it feel like to be in love?” and she will tell me and give advice. She’s probably my biggest mentor just in general life.
“Finally, in October 1945, a man with swampy eyes, feathers of hair, and a clean-shaven face walked into the shop. He approached the counter. “Is there someone here by the name of Leisel Meminger?” "Yes, she’s in the back," said Alex. He was hopeful, but he wanted to be sure. "May I ask who is calling on her?"
Okay literally nothing happens in the first half of the book. I mean i guess this where they give background and build up to the finale like harry potter but still two two and a half movies isn’t needed. I mean even while reading most of the first half i was a bit bored. I know i’m not gonna be bored during the movie cause watch Jennifer Lawrence all day but I’m just tired the industry doing this. I know it won’t ever stop but I still like to complain. End of Rant.
